The Shift Lead will be responsible for accurate data reporting in an effort to help our Production Team improve systems and maintain an efficient workflow.
The ideal candidate will possess the ability to drive productivity, prioritize projects, and monitor the quality of the work.
Experience in printing or manufacturing a plus! DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage shift while working with the other teams cooperatively Work with the production manager to establish priorities and demands pertaining to workflow, employees and equipment Prepare job paperwork and ensuring all materials, samples, and instructions are available prior to production.
Review and relay job requirements to employees Sets-up materials and equipment for most efficient production Train employees to ensure job skill proficiency and compliance with company policies and procedures Knowledge of operating procedures for bindery such as folders, symthe sew, cutters, binding/gluing machines, preferred but will train right person Skill in making adjustments using hand tools (i.
e.
, wrenches, screwdrivers, punches, knives) Machine feeding and delivery of product; stacking and organizing materials Report and maintain records.
Solicit management approval on all changes or deviation from the original work order as quickly as possible to ensure continued production without jeopardizing the order Conduct QC checks as per standard operating procedures, ensuring quality of work is per customer expectations High accountability for ensuring a safe, clean, organized and respectful work environment Facilitate transitions between shifts through exchange of pertinent information and reduce downtime Work a 4x10 schedule during off season a & 3x12 schedule during peak season Reports to shift daily and on time Other duties and projects as assigned PREFERRED
Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent, post-secondary technical training preferred.
Strong English (written and spoken) and computer skills required Minimum 2 years' experience in machine operation.
Experience in lead or supervisory role preferred.
Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
