The Center for Adult Transition (CAT) provides transition opportunities for young adults with significant intellectual disabilities after High School.
The Education Specialist will assist in CAT Mentor recruitment and training, assist in the modification of course structure by understanding and implementing the use of appropriate assistive technology, support the development of prevocational and vocational experiences, and coordinate with other members of the CAT team.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Identify and assist in the implementation of appropriate prevocational and vocational experiences for CAT participants Make recommendations regarding the use of appropriate assistive technology for CAT participants and support use of assistive technology provided by CAT participants Provide individualized academic supports to CAT participants Assist in CAT Mentor recruitment and training Other tasks as requested by the CAT Program Manager Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; 2 years related experience and/or training; Or, equivalent combination of education and experience Preferred Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Experience working with college age adults with developmental disabilities.
Experience providing vocational support to college age adults with Developmental disabilities.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
